Drum Circles for Kids, Schools & Homeschool Groups
Steve was awesome! I can not say enough about this drumming experience. He did a drum workshop for our homeschool group and all the kids as well sa the adults LOVED him! The room was packed! Drumming is fun, easy and a great way to improve a child's self-esteem while fostering a musical ground-work to last a lifetime. All sessions for kids include an informative African cultural/history/geography lesson on the origin of the drum and its' music.
Groups of 20-50 are recommended (teachers and parents are encouraged to play too!) so the optimum amount of learning and focus can occur. Usually sessions last an average of 45 minutes. Simple hand techniques, traditional African rhythms and songs, improvisational drumming as well as communication on the drum is taught in a fun, safe and no-pressure environment.
